final day of the senate convocation, the electors continued to cast their
ballots in order to select a candidate for the Duchy of Alderamin. Unofficial
sources indicate that there was considerable back-room negotiation, both
overnight and between today's rounds of balloting. On the 14th ballot, Count
Carl Gyldenskjold of Shululsish won a clear majority of the electorate and
was declared the choice of the convocation by Archduke Adair. The Archduke
immediately decreed his concurrence with the selection, and announced that
Count Gyldenskjold will immediately assume the position of Duke of Alderamin,
subject to confirmation by the Emperor.When the news reached planetary
networks, Shululsish erupted into impromptu celebration. Count Gyldenskjold
is quite popular here on his homeworld, and many citizens were quite open in
their wish that he be promoted to the duchy.Ω
