Shululsish/Solomani Rim

Wed, 10/12/2011 - 04:45 — Anonymous Shululsish/Solomani Rim 322-1120Today's
debate in the ducal senate involved the identity of the next Duke of
Alderamin. Post-session interviews revealed several surprises. Count Carl
Gyldenskjold of Shululsish was mentioned by a number of the barons as the
leader in the day's discussion, winning a substantial plurality of the votes.
Other candidates receiving significant vote blocs included Count Willem
Salacrou of Cuchulain and Countess Aurelie Muuadin of Hoatzin. The biggest
surprise of the day involved the Aslan chief-paramount, Teahtaukhakhtko.
Apparently at one point in the day's discussions he was nominated for the
duchy, and during the balloting he received a small bloc of votes. However,
the ko himself refused to be held in consideration for the office, and quite
visibly instructed all Aslan members of the senate to abstain from voting.
Thus the ko received votes only from non-Aslan senators, and clearly did not
vote for himself. No explanation has been forthcoming for this maneuver.A
small bloc of pro-Solomani peers registered a protest vote by nominating and
supporting the ancient Solomani cultural icon, Mickey Mouse. Archduke Adair
was said to be noticeably irritated, and ruled the nomination out of
order. The day's proceedings were apparently orderly, although Baron William
Royce of Hoatzin was ejected from the convocation about midday. The palace's
Sergeant of Arms refused to comment on the reason for the ejection, other
than to note that it was ordered by Archduke Adair. Baron Royce was seen
departing the senate building wearing an unusual piece of costumery: two
large black discs affixed to the sides of his head.Ω
